This leading global biopharmaceutical organization is looking to hire a Principal Scientist of Computational Biology to join their high performing Data Science and Machine Learning team to advance their preclinical and clinical pipelines across therapeutic areas.

This company is known for creating specialty medicines across exciting therapeutic areas such as oncology, immune oncology, nephrology, rare diseases, and more. They are currently using a first-in-class strategy that allows them to work across modalities and drive compounds through any phase of development. With their patient centric mindsight, this organization has been able to reach patients in over 80 countries and is looking to continue to advance this pipeline for the future.

As a Principal Scientist, you will work with key leaders across the R&D Group to advise on study designs and serve as the point person for advice on computational biology considerations such as biomarker consultation, and provide high quality analysis to advance discovery programs through to first-in-human studies.

Main responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality computational, biomarker consultation, and statistical advice to all Teams in POC, Discovery, Preclinical, Translational, and Early Development
  • Employ innovative study designs and work closely with translational medicine expertise to design pharmacogenomics and biomarker studies which can include whole genome sequencing, RNA expression, protein expression, and analysis of publicly available genomic datasets for target validation
  • Work with discovery scientists and translational medicine experts to repurpose drug targets, provide genomic evidence for drug target validation, and predict safety risk


Qualifications:
  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or similar with 5+ years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research industries
  • Experience in large scale omics dataset analysis, pathway analysis, and biological networks
  • Experience in validating biomarkers and knowledge in the process of discovery and translational development
  • Advanced in R, Python or similar, as well as UNIX/LINUX, SAS, etc
