UPDATE: Ceres is fortunate enough to be in a position to offer our current workforce the opportunity to work remotely during this challenging time. While we undergo this transition, we understand that there may be some uncertainty surrounding hiring and our ability to add new members to the Ceres team. Ceres will continue to move forward with hiring and onboarding new staff throughout the coming weeks. We recognize that the process may not move as quickly given our new virtual reality, and ask for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this new normal.

Ceres is proud to have grown our full time staff by more than 12% in the last year. Because of support from foundations, donors and our community at large, we continue to expand our workforce, presenting career growth opportunities to our current staff and creating new job positions to further support our successful programs and initiatives.

In the past five years we have nearly doubled our staff and project our growth rate to be above 15% for this coming year. We are excited to present the following positions for hire as we continue to expand our vision and advocacy outreach.

Ceres is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will not discriminate against any individual based on race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, military or veteran status, disability, or any factors prohibited by applicable law.
Internships
Ceres actively seeks to engage interns in our work. We have a number of exciting projects going at any one time and find the logistical, research, analysis, and writing support of interns to be of great value. We also hope working here inspires the next generation of professionals to "transform the economy to build a sustainable future for people and the planet."

Ceres hires a combination of undergraduate and graduate students, and that is often dictated by the projects we are managing. There are three times throughout the year when we solicit applications from potential interns.
Fall Internships
Each August, Ceres looks for candidates who would like to intern in our office, in one of our program areas, from mid-September through mid-December. During the fall session, interns will work between 10-15 hours a week. (This is adapted to work with class or other work schedules.) The pay rate is $15.00. We generally hire about 8-10 individuals.
Spring Internships
Each December, Ceres looks for candidates who would like to intern in our office, in one of our program areas, from mid-January through mid-May. During the spring session, interns will work between 10-15 hours a week. (This is adapted to work with class or other work schedules.) The pay rate is $15.00 an hour. We generally hire about 8-10 individuals. Spring internships are fully remote this year.
Summer Internships
Each February, Ceres advertises for our summer program. During February & March we conduct interviews and make placements no later than April. Our Summer Intern Program is held during the months of June, July, half of August, and runs for a 10-week period. The work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm. We pay a stipend of $6,000 for the ten weeks. Internships will be remote this summer.

We typically hire a mix of undergraduate and graduate students. This year, the program will begin on Monday, June 7, and run through Friday, August 13. In addition, interns need to be available for orientation one week prior to start date, to take place the week of May 31.
How to Apply
Should you be interested in working as an intern at Ceres, please apply online during the times noted, and provide us with a cover letter, resume, and one to two writing samples.. All open internships will be posted in the area above during the times we are accepting applications. Please submit any questions on our internship program to internships@ceres.org .

Ceres tackles some of the world's biggest, most complex sustainability issues to create a more just, equitable world. We work to transform the economy and build the business case for a sustainable future in engaging with investors, companies, policymakers and partner organizations. Our mission to change capital markets calls for creative solutions, credible data, and compelling arguments.

To succeed, we need to mirror the leadership expectations we advocate for in the Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability . We ask companies to build inclusive, equitable and engaged work environments, and we, ourselves, must lead by example to model a workplace that inspires and encourages others and represents the society and constituencies we hope will benefit from our work.

Ceres values collaboration, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit. We know the best ideas are often generated in teams that offer different points of view and include people from a wide range of backgrounds. An open-minded, creative workplace is only possible when differences are truly valued, an inclusive culture is created and sustained, and policies and practices are equitable.

For Ceres, sustainability is the bottom line and everyone is an equal stakeholder in the fate of our planet. The issues we address, such as water scarcity and pollution, climate change, and inequitable workplaces, affect people across diverse constituencies, and we believe diverse teams are necessary for creating and leading on solutions to address these issues.
