Position Overview

The Site Environmental Leader's primary objective is to support execution of Hexion's Environmental programs in Oregon, and support federal programs as relating to the Springfield, OR location. This candidate understands the regulatory and tactical needs to ensure compliance of the permitted facility. This position supports the day-to-day compliance needs and ensures a culture of compliance through direction, oversight, and execution of existing programs. The position provides coaching and technical expertise to the site leadership team to meet the permit compliance obligations.

This candidate is proficient with spreadsheets, and will be able to streamline the work processes for the Springfield plant. This candidate will also obtain data from various sources and integrate into spreadsheets or other programs verify compliance and support reporting obligations. They will also have the ability to understand data from one facility's process and translate into usable information.

Air compliance and permitting experience is required. The Springfield facility requires someone who understands permitting, how permits are structured, and overall experience in dealing with permit compliance. Experience with Title V and various MACT standards is preferred.

Experience with TRI data gathering and reporting is essential

This position will also support and guide the Hexion Springfield R&D facility with their environmental compliance needs and obligations.

Job Responsibilities

* Research and assess facility operations for regulatory applicability, specifically in air regulations
* Apply federal and state air regulations to Hexion Operations in Oregon
* Prepare air compliance reports and documents for manufacturing facility
* Maintain data to determine emission factors and calculations
* Support compliance assurance programs for all applicable air regulations
* Support environmental programs including water quality, waste management and EPCRA reporting
* Streamline reporting function for various state and federal reports

Minimum Qualifications

* 5-8 years' experience as an environmental engineer or environmental professional in a manufacturing/industrial setting or supporting an industrial facility
* Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental regulations in all media
* Ability to work in fast paced environment and self-directed at times
* Ability to be a resourceful, self-starter
* Proven ability to influence without direct authority
* SAP experience is preferred
* Previous experience working with a Title V permit environment is preferred

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science/Management, Engineering or technically related field required
