This team needs your expertise in protein sciences and structural biology to support cutting-edge small-molecule lead discovery efforts. In this role you will work with devising structural biology efforts and carry out experiments with CROs in the execution of X-Ray Crystallographic studies and cryo-EM for projects in oncology focus. In This Role You Will:
- Develop strategies for large-scale recombinant production of proteins and protein complexes to support assay development, high-throughput screening, and structural biology efforts
- Provide X-ray crystallographic support to determine structures of novel complexes
- Build an internal knowledge base around certain protein classes of interest
- Provide expertise with cryo-EM technologies and conduct studies with CROs in relation to binding-assays or characterization studies
- Interface with external CRO partners and internal Biology and Biochemistry team members to understand project needs, deliverables, and timelines
In This Role You Will Bring:
- PhD in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Protein Biochemistry or related fields with 0-5 years of industry experience or MS with ~6 years experience
- Expertise in construct design for expression in bacteria, insect cells, and/or mammalian cell cultures and further purification strategies/activities
- Track-record of executing crystal trials and solving novel structures of proteins, protein-ligand or protein-protein complexes
- Ability to collaborate with peers in lead finding focused on biochemical and biophysical assays used in small-molecule drug discovery and understand basic concepts
- Attention to detail and proven track record in handling, analyzing, and presenting experimental data to drive Go/No-Go decision making
- Collaborative team-first mentality with ability to contribute to teams expertise with Structural Biology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced biotech environment and adapt to changing demands
