The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician/Manager is a contributing member of the Business Continuity team implementing programs to instill a strong, meaningful safety culture at the Infineon Technologies Americas Corp.(IFAM). The EHS Technician/Manager will provide ongoing support to regional EHS programs, and work closely with IFAM leaders to continually improve EHS performance. He/She will be responsible for enabling IFAM to adequately address compliance obligations related to occupational health, safety, environmental protection and corporate social responsibility.

This open position is to be based at the Infineon San Jose (CA) site.

ESH Management System
  • Assist the Business Continuity team in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and updating IFAM's EHS policies, procedures, and programs in the U.S.
  • Assist the Business Continuity team in the execution of a robust Hazard Communication Program including the availability of correct and current SDS;
  • Perform routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company ESH procedures;
  • Participate in health and safety committee meetings, reviews, and audits of R&D lab areas and provide follow up tracking of action items to ensure completion of corrective actions;
  • Perform environmental and industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring;
  • Support the management, disposal, and documentation of hazardous and regulated wastes for R&D/Office areas.
  • Sustain the emergency preparedness program for R&D/Office areas.
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification requirements.
EHS Reporting
  • Complete and submit OSHA Log for US Sites
  • Complete, and once reviewed by Business Continuity team, submit management review reports.
  • Participate in investigations of business continuity/safety incidents. Examine and interpret incident data, identify root causes, and verify corrective/preventive actions.
Required Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years working in EHS. High degree of independence and discipline demonstrated in creating and adhering to own work schedule.
Required Skills:
Decision making. Collaboration. Basic manufacturing understanding. Knowledge and experience with applicable regulatory and third-party standards. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to firmly drive actions and communicate business consequences of non-compliance. Ability to support and gain trust at multiple organizational levels.

Education:
Required: Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Science or related field
