We are seeking a Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join our lean and agile team in our Mesa, Arizona facility, located at 7943, East Ray Rd. Suite #129, Mesa, AZ 85212. This role reports to the HR Director. The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager joins the HR team and responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the Corporate Safety Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

General Requirements

* Design, implement & monitor the Corporate Safety Program for North American locations.

* Recommend, manage, and administrate employee return-to-work program and PPE program requirements.

* Overseeing, managing, and advising on all safety-related items across the Company.

* Develops and maintains best practices to establish a safe work environment for all Company locations.

* Supports the procurement of capital and other manufacturing equipment through participation in review activities and development of acceptance criteria.

* Assures compliance to EH&S permitting and regulations, and is the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies in each respective location including air, water, refuse, recycling, etc.

* Conduct site inspection, incident investigation, environmental health and safety investigation, and audits for all company locations.

* Prepares and schedules training for employees on EH&S emergency procedures.

* Demonstrate a continuous learning safety behaviour and attitude, follow regulatory practices and rules, recognizes, and promote hazard reporting and ensure effective safety reporting.

* Develop continuous improvements towards safety management systems that assist in allowing management to make better business decisions.

* Facilitate company safety meetings and training to educate employees and managers on best practices.

* Partner with various departments to develop safety plans and procedures, acting as a resource for departments to follow EH&S best practices.

* Support the Company in their ESG reporting by working with Finance, Engineering and other departments.

* Focus on continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes and the organizations SMS.

* Visit Company facilities for inspections, help form and oversee the joint health and safety committees.

* Analyses technical data for trends related to hazards, events and occurrences.

* Responsible for providing information and advice to senior management and the Accountable Executive on matters relating to safe operations. Tact, diplomacy and a high degree of integrity are prerequisites.

* Investigate and manage workers compensation process.

* Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of all safety training programs and training matrixes.

* Ensures compliance standards in OHSA (USA) and WorkSafeBC (Canada) are met.

* Ongoing review & recommendation of Environmental, Safety & Health operating requirements expenses, vendors, materials, equipment, signages, PPE, and human.

* Development of risk management plans for new and existing locations.

* Inventories all hazardous materials and maintains Material Safety Data Sheets on all substances and OSHA logs for the facilities.

* Records, documents and submits all required paperwork for incidents, injuries and investigation reports in a timely and organized fashion.

* Manage, mentor and develop a team of EH&S professionals providing leadership and guidance.

* Conducts performance management and sets goals with their team members.

* Establish a level of accountability within their team, through empowering and establishing clear responsibilities.

* Displays dedication, time management, cadence and effectively elevate their team when needed.

* Assists with recruiting and building an effective team.

* Other duties as required and assigned by management.

* Measures the EH&S procedures effectiveness and investigates opportunities to increase the efficiency of processes.

Safety

Other Duties

* Other duties as required and assigned by management

Requirements

* 10+ years of EH&S experience with a preference for someone with experience in manufacturing, aviation, automotive, engineering, or related fieldwork environment.

* Experienced in Federal and State regulations such as Arizona Health and Safety regulation (OSHA, DOT, etc.).

* Experience with creating risk management plans.

* Prior experience in WorkSafeBC is considered an asset.

* Experience in providing root-cause analysis to determine how to prevent near-misses and accidents and participates in (hands-on) implementation of process improvements.

* Bachelors degree required, preferably in engineering, science or a related field

* CPR certification and first responder training is a plus

* Strong Verbal & Written communication skills.

* Team player comfortable consistently working with multiple teams.

* Ability to communicate - builds effective relationships across departments.

* Proactive and well versed in the legal requirements and practices for safety within Canada and USA.

* Initiative to develop and implement process improvements.

* Abides by Health & Safety standards and emphasizes their importance to team members.

* Legally able to work in USA and travel to Canada.
