Responsibilities
The key functions of the Environmental Health and Safety Officer are to support specific project needs and ensure that best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and an improved safety culture and performance is delivered.Assist manufacturing department with investigating SHE-related eventsIdentify, assess and work with the manufacturing department to develop and implement mitigation strategiesParticipate in area safety inspections and meetingsPerform Risk Assessments Review and update data management system Identify CAPA's with the goal of preventing future incidents Other safety related duties as requested
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of direct safety experience requiredMinimum 3 years experience working in a Bio-pharmaceutical R&D | Manufacturing industry requiredExperience must include risk assessments and incident investigations at a biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing facility 3 years experience using SHE management databases required BS is a Safety related field | MS in a safety related field preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred First Aid/CPR certifiedAdvance knowledge of safety standardsExperience developing a Site Specific Safety PlanExperience developing a Corporate Health and Safety PlanMust have experience in teaching Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation classesExperience preferred in the following areas: PharmaceuticalManufacturingBiologics At HazTek, We Stand Together for Safety HazTek Inc. is committed to building an environment of inclusion and acceptance that values diversity across all areas of the organization - an environment in which all employees have an opportunity to participate and contribute to the success of the business and are valued for their skills, experience, and unique perspectives.
