Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, T Cell Biology

About the Position

For this position, you will join our research and development team building upon our foundational technologies in cell engineering and immune receptor screening. Importantly, you will also be joining a small and very skilled team with the expectation to enrich the culture, which is driven by curiosity and bold ideas. The ideal candidate is innovative and self-motivated with an exceptional desire to lead the way in next generation cell therapies to cure cancer.

Successful candidates will join a small and nimble industry team working towards personalized cell therapies. There will be opportunities to interact with all levels of the company and the ability to work as an initial member in building a global immuno-oncology company. Applicants must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment, be self-motivated, detail-orientation, possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities include:

· Develop and execute cellular assays for T cells, including: culturing, engineering, and testing cell function

· T cell experiments require proficiency at cell isolation, multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine assays such as ELISPOT, cytokine bead array, or ELISA, and killing assays

· Maintenance of cell lines and primary cell cultures

· Timely upkeep of an electronic lab notebook

· Lead design of experiments and overall project direction

· Aid in upkeep of lab including general lab supply stocking and maintenance

· Present research data internally to other members of the team


· BS/MS in biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology or related discipline and 2+ years of relevant research experience

· Proficient at culturing human T cells and experience techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISPOT, and cell based immune assays desired

· Preference for experience in gene delivery, especially T cells, using synthetic mRNA transfection, lentiviral vector transduction, or CRISPR/Cas9

· Experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, and RNA in vitro transcription preferred

· Excellent computer skills including use of digital notebooks, graphing software-Excel/Prism, FlowJo and/or other flow cytometry analysis software and Microsoft Office

· Scientifically rigorous, highly organized, and with significant attention to detail

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Ability to work in concert with a team as well as independently
