Code BioTherapeutics, located in Hatfield, PA, is a startup biotech company supported by a syndicate of top-tier biotech investors and specializing in non-viral targeted drug delivery using a novel DNA-based delivery scaffold.The Code Bio team is passionate about developing treatments for serious and life-threatening diseases. We are currently looking for talented, highly motivated individuals with strong backgrounds in bioscience and technology who are driven by patient outcomes. The ideal candidate should have a bachelors degree in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry with 1-3 years of laboratory experience, or a masters degree (M.S.) degree in chemistry or biochemistry with 0-2 years of laboratory experience. The candidate should be comfortable with working both independently and as a part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Mammalian cell culture, transfection, and plate-based screening of scaffold payloads
In vitro characterization of transgene expression, RNAi knockdown, and target engagement
Design & execute new research projects to enhance existing assay techniques.
Provide multi-disciplinary support of the Discovery and Therapeutic Area teams throughout assay development.
Support internal as well as external collaborative RD projects.
Design and test protocols for transfer to the Development team.
Maintain data acquisition and analysis in an organized manner.
Basic Qualifications:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with gene therapy and/or gene delivery techniques
Experience with the following laboratory techniques: SDS-PAGE, molecular cloning, qPCR
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Knowledge and experience with the following common laboratory techniques is a plus: Western blotting, fluorescence microscopy, ELISA, cell-binding assays
Experience with, CRISPR gene editing, viral vectors, and/or viral vaccines is desirable.
