Laboratory Technician ( Microbiology)
Onsite
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform standard and non-standard laboratory prep procedures according to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for microbiology environmental samples received from clients.
Record data in a specific, clear and concise manner.
Some clerical work may be involved including data entry and logging in of samples for the Microbiology department.
Assist with equipment autoclave duties.
Assist with laboratory organization, supply inventory, calibrations, and cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Assist with working on special projects as assigned.
Media and reagent preparation and quality control.
Cross training in other laboratory disciplines as needed to meet business demands.
Requirements:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a Life Science (Biology, Microbiology, etc.).
Experience in testing microbiology environmental samples (water, wastewater, air, etc.) preferred.
Must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
Must have good communication skills (will have some client interaction).
Must have good computer skills both in typing and Microsoft Office Programs.
Must have good attention to detail.
Must have an understanding of custody client confidentiality.
Must be able to work independently and with a team.
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet client deadlines.
Must be able to work some weekends if needed.
Available Shift:
1st shift- Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
