Overview:

The Department of Wildland Resources invites applications for the integral role of Staff Assistant and Project Manager to provide daily administrative support and program coordination for Utah State University Extension Wildlife Programs (). To include the Berryman Institute () and Utah Community-based Conservation Program (), and coordinate activities among investigators, extension personnel, educators and advisory board members of a recently funded USDA-NIFA multidisciplinary and multi-state project.

Responsibilities:

Monitor the overall budgets to ensure all expenses are accurate and project-related.

Coordinate bi-monthly meetings for PI and Co-PIs and annual meetings for all project participants and advisory board members.

Assist with purchasing, travel procedures, student and technician hires.

Assist with developing outreach materials, newsletters, and project reports.

Interact on a daily basis with the students, public stakeholders, research, extension and education coordinators, faculty and staff.

Other duties as assigned

USU Extension programs responsibilities:

Update program websites

Manage listservs for communicating with stakeholders

Schedule meetings

Process invoices for page and program charges

Assist in organizing workshops and conferences

Manage equipment inventories, and manage a vehicle service center.

USDA-NIFA project responsibilities:

Provide research, extension and education content to the Content Editor, housed at USU for upload into a project website. This website will also serve as a link for integrating Co-PIs information and updates.

Invoice processing

Organize lab and advisory board meetings

Manage vehicle maintenance

Coordinate program hires

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of experience; or vocational/technical training/associate degree in an office or business field plus two years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Willingness to travel in support of programming to include overnight and out-of-state travel

Valid drivers license and ability to comply with Vehicle Use Policy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of basic computer programs to include Word, Excel, and common web site development program

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing large budgets

Demonstrated experienced in managing large projects

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders
