Job Description
This role will serve as a strategic and tactical specialist for all environmental health and safety processes including audits, assessments, training, and legal compliance. Provides support and consultation to the department leaders and team members.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules, including all OSHA safety protocols
  • Responsible for the development of safety policies, training programs, strategies and procedures
  • Coordinate and administer safety training initiatives for the company to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA and all other regulatory requirements
  • Identify, design and develop company health and safety processes, training programs and procedures as well as enforcing regulatory regulations and company policies
  • Manages the Worker's Compensation program for NewAge
  • Establishes a culture of safety by conducting and documenting required OSHA training for all team members, equipment training, and other applicable OSHA training
  • Analyzes safety data and performs trend analysis; providing reports and safety metrics to leadership team
  • Interpret chemical SDS and implement appropriate accommodations
  • Manage and track all training, certification, and re-certification; incorporating timelines for re-training and procedures to accomplish the training
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and ensure all required documentation is up to date and compliant with OSHA as well as any other state requirements and company policies
  • Conduct new hire orientation training to ensure delivery of all safety programs and other necessary safety guidance to newly hired team members
  • Conducts and document monthly facility safety inspections providing corrective action when necessary. Ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and ensures compliance with all state and federal laws.
  • Facilitate accident investigations, prepare incident and accident reports as well as work with management to determine root cause
  • Inspect work sites and machinery for potential hazards and ensure all health and safety protocols are being followed.
  • Develop plans for workplace emergencies and evacuations (Ex. In case of hurricanes, fires, toxic gas releases, chemical spills, civil disturbances and workplace violence)
  • Respond to reports of potentially unsafe working conditions in a timely manner

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health or related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety compliance, regulations, standards, safe work practices, and procedures
  • Strong desire to drive improvement with the belief that all injuries and incidents can be prevented
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization including senior leaders, managers, and hourly team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing safety programs at multiple locations
  • Completion of OSHA 40-hour training preferred
  • First Aid/CPR training preferred
