Job Description
ROLE
Provide strategic leadership in Environmental, Health and Safety to Pixelle Specialty pulp and paper Operations Ohio, including the Fremont converting facility. Develop and or maintain policies, programs and initiatives to improve compliance year over year in Health and Safety, Environmental and Security. Assists EH&S staff to drive results, influence decisions and hold team members accountable.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide leadership for the mill in the areas of health, safety and security driving improved results year over year for OSHA recordable incident rate, worker compensation costs and Fire and security risk reduction recommendations.
Provide Environmental leadership in air, water, solid waste and ground water for continuous improvements to the mills environmental footprint. Conduct oversight to the mill operations to prevent any NOVs, maintaining 100% permit compliance.
Assist Safety & Health, Environmental and security providing guidance and support (act as a working manager) to ensure process, procedures and activities are completed timely, Insuring EH&S visibility in the mill at every level.
Provide critical oversight and technical advice and assistance to the operating areas with respect to compliance activities, and equipment selection and operations.
Work closely with regulatory agencies promoting a relationship based on trust, openness and transparency.
Work with the local community to maintain a positive relationship with our neighbors and local business.
