FDRsafety is seeking a US EHS Director for a large manufacturing services client near Portage, IN. This individual will lead a group of Regional and Site Safety Professionals. This responsibility will include leading the group of professionals in their Safety Management System duties and multiple other Safety related job responsibilities.
Duties/ Responsibilities:Provide leadership for the USA Operations in the areas of health, safety and environmental driving improved results year over year for OSHA recordable incident rate, worker compensation costs and continuous improvement of the safety culture.Provide Environmental leadership in air, water, solid waste and ground water for continuous improvements to the USA Operations environmental footprint. Conduct oversight to prevent any NOV's, maintaining 100% permit compliance.Assist the Safety, Health, and Environmental professionals providing guidance and support to ensure process, procedures and activities are completed timely, Insuring EH&S visibility in each facility at every level.Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) prevention programs to ensure full compliance with regulations and company requirements.Provide professional EHS exus improvement of the Safety Culture.pertise and leadership to deliver a robust and sustainable EHS culture for the business.Work closely with Customer EHS and Operations managers promoting a relationship based on trust, openness and transparency.Education and Experience:
BS in a scientific area preferably in Environmental, Health and Safety.Ten (10) plus years' Environmental, Health & Safety experience in an industrial multi-site responsibility setting.Leadership ability to obtain year-over-year improved results through performance management.Strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communications, negotiating and influencing decisions both internal and external. The ability to communicate complex issues, simplifying updates for upper management, regulatory agencies and communities.
