*Summary of Internship*
The Cell Biology Internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing an immunology, biochemistry, or related field degree to get hands on experience working with scientists in a fast-paced research and development environment. The biology intern will contribute to flow cytometry reagent development projects and work in a collaborative team. *The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.*
*Essential Functions*
* Support manufacturing phase for the commercialization of new reagents for flow cytometry
* Independently design experiments and conduct basic troubleshooting
* Maintain mammalian cell culture, working with both primary cells and cell lines, including the preparation of human and mouse primary immune cells
* Manage multiple experiments concurrently to meet product release timelines
* Maintain a clean and safe laboratory
* Communicate effectively and work efficiently with team members across R&D to support product development
* Perform other responsibilities to support the needs of the team, as assigned
*Skills and Abilities*
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
* Strong motivation to learn and grow own skill set
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills to meet changing priorities
* Familiarity with laboratory techniques and previous laboratory experience desired
*Qualifications *
* Student in their Junior or Senior year of the pursuit of a BS in biology, biochemistry, or related field
* Immunology or related coursework highly desired
To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
