Overview:
The laboratory of is seeking outstanding, highly motivated, and creative candidates for a Senior or Lead Researcher position, starting in November 2021 or the earliest date thereafter to study the early genetic and epigenetic changes in blood stem and progenitor cells in hematopoietic diseases and aging. The ideal candidate is curious, self-motivated, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experiences in cell and molecular biology or related fields and a strong desire to learn new techniques are a prerequisite. A background in hematology is preferred but not required and candidates from a wide variety of fields with a genuine interest in stem cells and the origins of cancer are encouraged to apply.
You will have the opportunity to work with a young and talented interdisciplinary team to decipher the molecular mechanisms regulating normal and mutant blood stem cell behaviors and decisions. Our laboratory uses molecular and cell biological tools, mouse models, next-generation sequencing, high-resolution 3D microscopy and novel long-term continuous quantitative live-cell imaging to understand the molecular mechanisms of hematological diseases at the single-cell level to develop novel therapies.

Responsibilities:
The selected person will conduct projects and perform experiments independently and as part of a team, maintain efficient laboratory operations, learn new techniques, and assist in training other laboratory personnel as summarized below.
Design and conduct laboratory research experiments.
Document, interpret and present results of experiments.
Learn, implement and troubleshoot new laboratory techniques & technologies.
Collect, compile and analyze data; maintain detailed records.
Training of less experienced research staff
Reading literature, contribute your own idea's and show initiative
Preparation of data and texts for publication
Organization of lab operations.
In this position, you will gain extensive experience and training in various cell and molecular biology techniques, mouse models, flow cytometry, genome editing, confocal microscopy, time-lapse imaging, single-cell analysis, bioinformatics, data presentation and interpretation. We strongly support the career development of all lab members through opportunities to publish in high-impact journals, obtain grants and present work at academic conferences.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required
Minimum Experience:
Senior Researcher:
Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required with a bachelor's degree
Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a master's degree
No experience is required with a PhD.
Lead Researcher:
Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required with a bachelor's degree
Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a master's degree
No experience is required with a PhD.
