Job Scope & Purpose:
Our client is on the forefront of the intersection of biology and computing and is building the worlds first DNA-Based platform for digital data storage and computation. This team is pushing the limits of understanding and capacity within the computational world by translating biological systems and functions into modes of computing and digital data storage.
This exciting organization is seeking a talented molecular or synthetic biologist to join their team who has a strong grasp of DNA-based assay development and a mastery of molecular biology techniques.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Leading research and development activities for unique and novel methods to synthesize, sort, modify and read DNA
Work cross-functionally within the biology, engineering, bioinformatic and software teams to design and execute experiments demonstrating computation with molecules of DNA
Analyze data, present findings and make recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
Primary Job Requirements:
PhD in molecular biology, biophysics, synthetic biology, bioengineering or related discipline
Demonstrated mastery of DNA-Based assay development and molecular biology techniques including PCR/qPCR, hybridization, DNA modifying enzymes and NGS
Experience with lab automation or other kinds of DNA-Interfacing hardware
Familiarity with computer science or software engineering is a plus
