The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Senior is responsible for assisting the EHS Director and the Business Unit Leaders and their staff in implementing corporate EHS strategies and initiatives that support the Company's business strategies and activities. All related activities are designed to establish a company safety culture that drives continuous improvement, increased employee involvement and sustainable results.Identify and eliminate EHS hazards and risks and reduce the related costs.Demonstrate proficiency in EHS and Risk Management relational databases and Microsoft applications in order to analyze data, identify trends and prepare reports and presentations from the data.Review and develop internal safety policies and practices and ensures they are current and appropriate.Conduct accident investigations to determine root cause and necessary corrective actions for sustainable results.Develop and implement policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions.Conduct hazard and risk assessments and develops new or, where necessary, makes recommendations to amend safety policies and procedures.Serve as a member of the corporate EHS/RM audit team as a Subject Matter Expect.Promote environmental, health and safety awareness through continuous and timely EHS communications.Develop and deliver training programs related to OSHA, EPA and customer regulations and requirements.Administer the accident investigation program to prevent recurrence of incidents and to ensure information on incidents is shared adequately across all programs.Conduct on-site reviews and audits of high risk programs in both CONUS & OCONUS locations.Actively participate in the scheduling of safety meetings across all Programs to review safety performance.Provide written reports, as well as other EHS-related results and updates to senior management periodically to appraise the staff of critical issues or as requested.Ensure environmental health and safety programs conform to established DI standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and customer specifications, thereby achieving high customer satisfaction levels.Monitor and assist operations in the enforcement of health and safety regulations.Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis and closure of corrective actions.Identify, share and assist in communicating and institutionalizing EHS Best Practices.Acts as a Subject Matter Expert advisor regarding EHS contractual SOW/PWS requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.Strong training and communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge in planning and conducting industrial hygiene evaluations.Experience working with hazardous waste management.Evaluate current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position for professional development.
Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline (e.g., Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental, etc.).Ten years experience in any combination of the following areas: Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management and Military Aviation Safety.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including MS Project, and working experience with spreadsheets.Green Belt trained and certified in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) techniques.Active participation in a recognized EHS trade association (ASSE, NSC, AIHA, etc.).Knowledge of the functions and operations of major U.S. Military Commands.
Masters degree preferred.Professional certifications as CSP or CIH (Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.Experience in managing OSHA VPP, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ANSI Z10 and other EHS initiatives desirable.
