OVERVIEW:
Help protect our environment! Be a member of this cutting-edge team analyzing samples for environmental contaminants. We are currently seeking a Chromatography Chemist to perform sample preparation, testing, and instrument maintenance in a GC/MS laboratory. This is a hands-on analytical role where the candidate will prepare and analyze environmental samples and document the results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform sample and standard preparation, instrument calibration, data reduction, and reporting of results using the GC/MS
Cleaning and maintenance of air canisters used in environmental testing
Documentation of work using LIMS, instrument calibration, and data analysis
Compliance with pertinent elements of the laboratory's QA system and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science, or equivalent work experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Independent self-management and organizational skills
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chromatography experience including GC/MS
Experience with environmental sampling and testing
Familiarity with Swagelok fittings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
ISO 17025, GLP/GMP, or other regulated laboratory experience
