Job Summary

Environmental Compliance Coordinator:

Ensures company compliance, at a specific location or region, with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit requirements and regulations. Has responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the work site, to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures. Serves as liaison with external and governmental agencies. Coordinates with and monitors operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations. Inspects or assesses, and provides recommendations regarding compliance issues to management. Analyzes data and prepares management reports on environmental compliance records. Serves as the primary contact/coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental, safety or chemical management issues. Serves as an environmental contact, in collaboration with business unit and corporate representatives, with the community to resolve complaints or problems. Procures services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental programs. Coordinates regulated hazardous waste disposal. Performs SARA/ECPA compliance activities, fulfills submissions and addressess related local/state requiredments. Provides training to site personnel in handling of chemicals and waste materials, and for other procedural requirements. Evaluates new regulations and coordinates compliance plan development and maintenance.

Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator:

Either ensures company compliance with environmental, chemical management, waste management, and permit requirements and regulations at a specific work location or region, or ensures compliance of contracted assets at multiple, smaller work sites. Has responsibility for safe and efficient operation of work site, to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures. Serves as liaison with external and governmental agencies. Coordinates with and monitor operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations. Inspects or assesses and provides recommendations on compliance issues to management. May analyze data and prepare management reports. Keeps management apprised of site environmental compliance records. Serves as primary site coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental and chemical safety issues at work site(s). Serves as an environmental contact, in collaboration with business unit and corporate representatives, with the community to resolve complaints or problems. Procures services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental programs. Coordinates regulated waste disposal. Performs SARA/EPCRA compliance activities, fulfills submissions and addresses related local/state required submissions. Provides training to site personnel in handling chemicals and waste materials, or in other procedural requirements. Evaluates new requirements and collaborates with corporate contributors in the development and maintenance of environmental compliance plans. May serve as a conduit at contracted sites, to address company environmental policies and programs. May identify potential safety prevention risks, and recommend corrective measures relative to the environmental compliance function. May include monitoring and evaluating compliance gaps between Dominion and contracted assets and recommend corrective measures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.
  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

Environmental Compliance Coordinator:
  • Directly related experience and knowledge typically gained from Associate's degree plus 4 years relevant experience or Bachelor's degree plus at least 2 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental requirements
  • Ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans
  • Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance
  • Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking skills
  • Analytical and record keeping skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Organizational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in field environments
  • Must be capable of responding to callouts afterhours, weekends and holidays

Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator:
  • Significant directly related experience and knowledge typically gained from Associate's degree plus 7 years relevant experience or Bachelor's degree plus at least 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental permits
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes
  • Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance
  • Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports
  • Strong technical writing, communication and public relations skills
  • Strong data analysis and record keeping skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-directed
  • Must be capable of responding to callouts afterhours, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in field environments
  • Ability to manage contract resources
  • Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate , Bachelor Disciplines.

Preferred: Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Science, Biology, Chemistry
