Managing Director â€" Capital Markets Associate Program JOB SUMMARY Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the Capital Markets Associate Program (CMAP), a hiring, training and talent development program focused on growing CBRE’s presence in the $1M - $25M investment sales segment. Responsibilities include: managing short and long term revenue growth and profitability of CMAP; building a roster of top talent through recruiting and retention initiatives designed to fill gaps and defend strengths; integrating a variety of services and growing the market/client share; guiding direct or indirect reports in client service orientation and consultative sales as well the effective, efficient, and ethical operation of their respective teams and/or accounts; building a cohesive, diverse team dedicated to ongoing improvement of the company’s service delivery platform and enhancing effective and rewarding client relationships; and taking an ethical approach to guard CBRE’s RISE values and build a culture of high performance with integrity in everything we do. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: General: •Identifies markets and products in the $1M - $25M space for business growth opportunities •Collaborates with local market leaders/Managing Directors to identify sponsors and source candidates for the program •Builds and develops training program, including on-demand, virtual and live/in-person sessions; measures progress related to training. •Partners with various functions across the organization including: sales, marketing, finance, operations, legal, HR, etc. •Builds strong business operations and sets specific, measurable, challenging yet achievable goals and objectives •Other responsibilities including working with other investment sales professionals, outside of CMAP, who are focused on the private capital segment. Human Capital and Recruitment: •Provides for the recruitment, selection, performance management, development and retention of high caliber Associates that are focused on identified growth opportunities; guides team in strengthening their competencies. •Implements a career development and succession plan, along with an effective retention program for key personnel, while creating a more diverse organization. •Recognizes expertise and empowers peers and employees to build a dynamic team that is viewed by others as highly productive, capable and the best in the industry. •Meets hiring targets Leadership: •Creates, communicates and monitors the vision, mission, strategy, objectives, business plan, budget, policies and operating plans. •Serves as a change agent for business improvements. Develops buy-in and support for new initiatives and processes. •Provides effective presentations to senior management, employees and prospects/clients. Serves as a key industry and division/line of business/company spokesperson to community. •Leads by example to earn respect and trust of peers, employees and clients. Clearly supports others by providing honest, open, two-way communication. Provides appropriate feedback loop to executive leadership on relevant issues. •Implements or directs the implementation of programs that meet corporate goals and objectives. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE •Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university required. •A minimum of eight (8) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. •Possesses strong experience in managing (directly or indirectly) a large, diverse team. Has strong understanding of industry and specific line of business. •Demonstrates knowledge/capabilities in the areas of financial analysis, business administration, legal, human resources, ethical practices, marketing, business development and consultative sales. •Fosters a strong service-orientation and an “advisory role” in client relationships. •Uses ability to think strategically and to synthesize the most complex business and financial data. •Utilizes an entrepreneurial approach and develops innovative solutions. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Real Estate sales, brokerage or appraisal license required as appropriate for the business unit. Participation in professional and industry organizations desired. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively to justify or defend sensitive matters with executives. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Possess advanced financial skills and knowledge to review the complex financial reports prepared by others and to make recommendations to executives that impact division/line of business/company REASONING ABILITY Ability to review recommendations and results provided by others that directly impact division/line of business/company. OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES A strong entrepreneurial and creative spirit. Some knowledge and understanding of all facets of property and asset management, leasing, brokerage, marketing, and financial reporting. Is flexible and adept at handling multiple priorities and initiatives. Displays excellent organizational skills. Above-average computer skills in Word, Excel, and Internet usage. High level of integrity and ethics is critical.
