JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and support to a newly formed team within CBRE, charged with accelerating decarbonization across our Fortune 500 clients' global real-estate portfolios. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CBRE views decarbonization, including all methods and technologies, as a key business imperative given our position as the world's largest manager of real assets. We are using our relationships, purchasing power, and technical expertise to bring game changing products to market at unprecedented scale to address climate change in a meaningful way. The Decarbonization Program Manager supports CBRE's efforts to remove carbon from our client's portfolios at ever increasing speed. This position is a critical new additional to a newly formed team that is focusing on product development and go to market for decarbonization technologies such as Solar, EaaS, EV Charging and more. This is a global role that will be integral in the development of a globally consistent, yet regionally tailored solution for the largest sustainability questions Fortune 500 occupiers are asking as they seek to action public commitments (such as NetZero). Services include efficiency improvements, off- and on-site solar, EV fleet, and EV charging.This means coordinating/negotiating with CBRE's vendor network, liaising with internal CBRE functions to coordinate the appropriate resources and personnel, working with internal account teams to identify and refine the appropriate solutions for their clients, and working to accelerate the client decision and implementation process. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Supporting client account or SET/QBR meetings Contributing to and/or coordinating resources for external communications, such as thought leadership, whitepapers, speaking engagements at industry events, marketing / sales collateralDevelop efficient "ways of working" for the team, to work faster and smarterFacilitating meetings to review active and pending projects (project pipeline). Collaborating with the core team to develop solutions and lead project team(s) through implementation and completion. Managing internal and external relationships in support of program(s);Managing and/or contracting vendors. Consulting on complex, medium- to large-scale projects that integrate into an organized program. Managing/overseeing a team who are responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects and programs.Serving as the primary client contact and escalation point for any staffing, bandwidth or delivery issues.Other duties may be assigned. Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must have 5+ years of real estate experience. Additional experience in sustainability and/or energy management, preferred. Minimum five years of related experience. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP), or similar certifications preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Strong process skills, negotiating, decision-making and analytical skills are necessary. Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques. Ability to build and maintain effective professional/client relationships. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Program Manager position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Program Manager position is $200,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
