Work details:

Provides technical experience needed to assist in studying the basic principles of plant and animal lifePlan and administer biological research programs

Assists with performing basic laboratory experiments and proceduresAnalyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings

Analyze the role of mRNA degradation in T cell biology 5Perform RNA and DNA extraction experiments on Cryptococcus and mammalian cells 2

Perform basic molecular biology techniques on Cryptococcus and mammalian cells such as plasmid transformation and mutant generation 1

Prepares, organizes and maintains various lab samples, supplies, and equipmentOperate, calibrate, or maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers

Operate laboratory equipment to analyze samples 3

Additional Qualifications:

PhD degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor's degree is equivalent to a Master's degree. One year of experience in biology or a related field.

Demonstrates experience working in a laboratory environment.

Demonstrates knowledge of proper laboratory disposal methods.
