Job Description:
Dewberry is currently seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist to join our environmental group in our Parsippany, NJ office and work in the Natural Resources Section of our Water Resources Engineering Department. The individual will work with professionals in natural resource inventories and analyses, wetland delineation, permitting and mitigation. Knowledge of and/or interest in the applications and design of green infrastructure and stream restoration would be helpful.
The successful individual will conduct desktop database reviews of natural resources for various types of projects, and help conduct soil, hydrology and vegetation inventories/plant identifications, as applicable. The individual may also provide assistance with preparation of NJDEP Wetland Permit applications, as well as Federal Section 404 and 401 permit applications, documenting results of field investigations and analyses.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform a variety of environmental support functions.
The Environmental Scientist must be flexible, client focused and capable of working under the supervision of project managers.
The work required is diverse and ranges from general field support to technical work that requires strong communication and organization skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub-consultants, and state/county/agency review staff, as well as have the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
Expected to work in a timely fashion to meet project, client, and/or regulatory deadlines and project budgets.
Responsible for composing technical reports, memorandums, and other written documents.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science/Botany/Ecology/Natural Resource Management or related field required.
0-2 years of experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Access
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or ARcGIS; Bentley software products a plus
Current OSHA 40-hr certification and/or other applicable certification also a plus.
