Responsibilities:

Performs sterilization procedures, prepares biological media, grows and maintains viable bacteriological cultures for Microbiology and Biology classes as needed.

Coverage of labs for absent instructors when needed. Assist and instruct student: setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials. Prepare and Assist with and answer questions on the preparation of all Biology labs.

Maintain Certifications; Hazardous Waste Training & Operations (NYIT165) in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.120e8 and Hazardous Waste Management Training (CO58230) in compliance with 40 CFR 265.16.

Coordinate with adjunct faculty to ensure that all biology teaching laboratories run timely and efficiently.

Required to teach, especially laboratory based courses.

Qualifications:

A Bachleor' degree is required.

A required field of expertise in Chemistry/Biology.

40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, 29 CFR 1910.120e8:Annual 8 hour refresher(NYIT165) is required.

Hazardous Waste Management Traing, 40 CFR 265.16: Certificate #CO58230 is preferred.

Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Must be able to ork independently and collaboratively.

Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of the most up to date safety standards provided by EH&Shave .
