As a Staff Ecologist with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be part of a team to help clients navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape to achieve and maintain compliance with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related regulations. You will assist with wetland and stream delineations, ecological monitoring/assessment field activities, and prepare reports and permit applications.
B.S. or B.A. in a natural sciences field (e.g., Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology);
0-4 years of experience performing or leading applied ecological field studies (wetland delineation, fisheries, forestry, botany, invertebrates);
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Familiarity with scientific process and ability to work in team setting.
Additional qualifications that are a plus
Completion of a 40-hour wetland delineation training course;
Familiarity with Section 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting;
Familiarity with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation;
Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS);
Familiarity with ecological restoration practices.
