Job Description:


The Department of Biology at Emmanuel College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in fall 2022. We seek a broadly trained biologist that shares the department's commitment to inclusive STEM pedagogy and practices. The successful colleague would teach lectures and research-based lab courses, and upper-level elective courses in their area of specialization. We are particularly interested in a colleague with expertise in any of the following areas; biochemistry, biotechnology, inclusive STEM pedagogy. The successful colleague will develop a research program with undergraduate student scientists, while leveraging collaborations with faculty colleagues at the college, surrounding Longwood Medical Area, and/or greater Boston science community.

Faculty at Emmanuel instruct the equivalent of three courses per semester, advise and mentor undergraduate student scientists, and participate in departmental and college-wide service activities. The Department of Biology is located in the Wilkens Science Center, blocks from the Longwood Medical Area, and is equipped with excellent research facilities and scientific instrumentation.


Requirements:


Candidates must have a PhD in biology or related field, and a commitment to teaching and research with undergraduates; postdoctoral experience is preferred.
