RPS Group is looking for a senior level environmental compliance consultant to join our Environmental Risk, EHS & Compliance group. This role requires a passion for Environmental Consulting and environmental compliance. Under supervision from the Business Unit Leader, the primary responsibility of this position is to help build and develop clients from pull-through opportunities from our due diligence practice. There are also expectations to obtain clients from independent leads and contacts. The selected Candidate will be a key member of a growing team and contribute to the tailored risk based environmental solutions for our diverse client base. In this position, the selected candidate will have responsibility for managing EHS clients, , reviewing client environmental compliance obligations, data entry, review of environmental compliance deliverables, client communication, reviewing RPS digital offerings, as well as the opportunity to grow the EHS practice by increasing sales and helping develop more junior consulting staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- The Environmental Consultant will work with key managers in due diligence to prepare cost-to-cures and following up with proposals to obtain pull through compliance work.
- Work with portfolio and equity clients to build recurring EHS management relationships.
- Be a key reviewer of compliance related reports and plans for other team members.
- Work on environmental compliance projects for clients in various industries.
- Review budgets and prepare invoices.
- Be a key scheduler of EHS staff and work weekly to assign projects and establish teams for large multi site portfolio projects.
- Conduct research and provide assistance to clients for the following regulatory programs: Clean Water Act (NPDES), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), Clean Air Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA 302-32, 311, 312, 313), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (hazardous waste) compliance.
- Travel up to 25% on average.
- A 4 year technical degree, preferably in environmental science or engineering.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word are critical, as well as general computer, web, and digital expertise.
- Experience with supervising staff.
- Must be self motivated, highly organized, comfortable scheduling and conducting extensive field work independently and reporting results.
- A minimum of five years in consulting (either full employment, or internship) is strongly preferred.
