Experis, a ManpowerGroup company has an exciting contract opportunity for a Biologist - II (Associate) in Cambridge, MA

This position is a 12 month contract for one of our key clients, a global biopharmaceutical company that is engaged in the discovery, development and manufacturer of healthcare products

Client is looking for minimum BA/BS or MS in Biology or related discipline with 0-3+ years of laboratory research experience in an academic or industrial setting.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thrive in a team environment.
Critical to success are a high degree of organization, a go-getter mentality, team-oriented attitude, and perseverance.
Effective record keeping skills as well as verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Required laboratory skills - must be proficient in mammalian cell culture (cancer cell lines and/or primary cell culture): demonstrated ability to passage cells, freeze and thaw cells, and exceptional sterile technique.
Nice to have Skills: Experience with genome editing (CRISPR), transfection and transduction of mammalian cells, microbial cultures, DNA/RNA purification and quantitative PCR, and flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy are preferred.
Ideal candidate would be a team-player, curious and engaged.
Computer Skills: MS Office Suite

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will use functional genomics to investigate host-pathogen interactions, epithelial cell signaling, and support new platform development.
This is a great opportunity to learn how functional genomics can be applied in a drug discovery setting, work in an exciting and fast paced environment, and develop professionally.
Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique is critical.
Experience with common lab techniques such as quantitative PCR, Western blotting, microscopy, and flow cytometry a plus.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out and interpret experiments independently, record observations and results in lab notebooks, and clearly communicate their findings with colleagues.
