This is a senior-level position requiring a strong environmental management background. The successful candidate will lead Caesars Entertainment's environmental compliance program as well as the development and implementation of environmental policies and practices to ensure compliance with air quality, water quality, universal/hazardous waste, fuel storage, storm water pollution prevention, and other related environmental rules and regulations that govern business operations. Management of Title V air quality programs and compliance will be a requirement. The successful candidate should have relevant environmental education, degrees, professional certifications, and experience with environmental management systems. Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills are mandatory.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively manage environmental compliance for the organization. Develop and implement policies and procedures; ensure compliance activities are undertaken at individual properties; oversee permitting and reporting; manage strategies related to environmental compliance; and have overall responsibility for the organization's environmental management program.
  • Oversee and implement environmental management systems and continue to update methods of managing environmental compliance and risk using technology and systems, as required.
  • Provide technical support to properties, consult on environmental related issues that may arise from time to time and oversee outside contractors and consultants needed to augment internal resources.
  • Carryout impact assessments and audits to identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks.
  • File permit applications, attend public hearings, and serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, as required.
  • Manage projects and programs, including tracking budgets/schedules, interacting with contractors/consultants, serving as the primary corporate liaison with property-level leads, and ensuring effective implementation of environmental initiatives.
  • Oversee environmental site assessments as needed for properties being acquired or sold.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and support related government relations activities/initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the company's sustainability program.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a broad range of environmental experience, that includes, but is not limited to, air quality and Title V permitting and compliance; stormwater pollution prevention; water discharge permitting; hazardous materials permitting and waste management; spill prevention; environmental site assessments; and developing and implementing environmental management strategies and systems (ISO 14000).
  • B.S. Environmental Science or Related Degree required.
  • Understanding of key environmental rules and regulations at local, state and federal levels, as applicable.
  • Experience using and/or implementing environmental management systems.
  • Direct experience with air quality permitting and management of Title V sources. Experience in Clark County, NV a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills (MS products; strong Excel skills a must)
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to make decisions and complete assignments with minimal oversight
  • Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Certified Environmental Manager and ISO 14000 experience a plus

Work Environment
  • Office environment.
  • Some work on property sites in back-of-house locations (e.g. central plants, mechanical rooms, engineering shops, conference rooms and similar locations).
  • Some travel may be required
