United States of America - Texas, Houston Job Summary AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated junior level geologist and/or environmental scientist to provide remote support a major O&G program in West Texas. This role will support ongoing environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various O&G clients. The ideal candidate will have prior O&G experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. In addition, the candidate will have some experience in data management and basic technical report production. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role. Tasks will include: * Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation. * Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations. * Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation. * Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope. * Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories. * Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Minimum Requirements * Minimum BS degree in in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences and/or Engineering (civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical or geotechnical). * At least 2 years' experience in environmental consulting or related field. Preferred Qualifications * Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software). * Must have strong organizational skills and ability to follow documentation protocols. * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). * An understanding of environmental investigation practices, procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
