Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Market Lead - Americas to be based in any major metropolitan area located in the United States or Canada.

Position Overview

The ESG Market Lead guides the strategic growth, sales, project execution and staff recruitment/development of ESG in the United States and Canada. In close coordination with Global ESG Leaders across all business lines, this position will play a key role in elevating AECOM's ESG brand and driving the overall growth, development and performance both internally and externally.

Primary Role: Responsible for leadership of ESG in the identification of new markets, initiatives and the sales process, drive market presence drive collaboration across multi-discipline cross business line team to mature an industry leading ESG culture. Advising Executive Leadership team, global business line leads, regional executives, and practice leads.

Reporting Line: Reports to Impact Assessment & Permitting Practice Managing Director, including key interactions with ESG leaders in other business lines, global leaders, and Technical Practice Leads.

Key Practice Staff Support: Key technical leaders.

Key Performance Indicators: Growing Market Share of ESG focused Markets, Recognition as a thought leaders, market positioning/image, growth, and staff development/retention.

Main Responsibilities include but aren't limited to the following:

Working in collaboration with operational and sales leaders, this senior leader is responsible for setting vision and priorities in the Americas and supports establishment of goals, objectives and strategies in accordance with the Paris Agreement, US and Canadian national ESG goals. Sells the full range of climate change, decarbonization and sustainability services and targets key clients across the entire AECOM footprint. Frequently consulted by clients, peers and colleagues with a high reliance place on industry knowledge. Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and may have far reaching impact on the business.

* Coordinates and executes Americas level ESG initiatives both internal and external

* Supports end market specific ESG taskforces

* "Go to" first point of contact for ESG queries

* Provide Americas-level advice, co-ordination and execution on operational ESG initiates, support global efforts with aim to scale up Americas efforts globally.

* Support Americas business to meet client expectations on Net Zero, Sustainability, and Decarbonization across our end markets.

* Take a leadership role on creating value for AECOM from COP26.

* Engages in policy and technology development forums, participates in strategic pursuits, proposal preparation and review, and strategic project involvement.

* Plans, prioritizes, budgets and coordinates participation in industry-leading conferences and forums.

* In coordination with Human Resource representatives, supports the Practice career path development, including criteria for individual career development and advancement. Grows the Practice resource pool by identifying, developing and progressing individuals to become skilled practitioners.

* Functions as a Senior Advisor, Principle-In-Charge, or Technical Expert on major programs and or projects as appropriate.

* Collaboration with co-TPDs to promote cross-selling of services, achieve successful capture of large-scale pursuits, and grow client accounts.

* Collaboration with other Business Lines to promote cross selling and insourcing of services.

This position can be based in any major metro area in the Americas (United States and Canada)

Minimum Requirements

* BA/BS in a related field and 15+ years related experience with Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge in multiple areas of the ESG practice or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including six years of leadership.
