How will you make an impact?

The Business Segment Leader will be responsible for leadership of a team, market and product strategy and daily execution of a growing business segment focused on Gene Synthesis, Oligos and Cloning.

This position will lead global portfolio strategies, drive innovative solutions to customer challenges, manage day-to-day operations for top line growth and profitability, and provide market leadership in the development of innovative products.

What will you do?
  • Develops product development, positioning, and go-to-market strategies to enable financial objectives, which includes identifying, establishing and managing strategic relationships with customers and industry opinion leaders. The business segment leader is ultimately responsible for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
  • Provides product management leadership, from concept to commercialization (full product lifecycle). Leads the life cycle of the existing product portfolio. Responsibilities include five-year product line strategies, pricing /margin optimization, management across the customer value continuum, and customer intimacy efforts.
  • Devises and implements organizational strategies and processes to position the business for growth and scale. Develops business cases and recommend investments to drive sustainable growth.
  • Serves as business champion driving strategic alignment with internal partners, regional teams, and directly with key accounts.
  • Champions successful launches through requirement development, research and development, and commercialization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, owns the ultimate customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs).
  • Leverages Business Development to develop optimal licensing, partnership, and acquisition strategies that expand product portfolio.
  • Leads a robust business team by hiring, developing and engaging talented and motivated employees. Responsible to enable a high performing business team through effective coaching and development.
  • Contributes to the Business leadership team by driving collaborative engagement to ensure achievement of growth targets of the business and the company.

How will you get here?
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, strategy, strategic marketing
  • 5+ years of people management and business leadership
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the Life Sciences
  • Experience driving global business and commercial strategy
  • Strong track record of proactively driving programs forward with a focus on financial results
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth through product innovation
  • Ability to build, manage, and inspire teams across a matrixed environment; effective at influencing others and building relationships; collaborative approach
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to quickly to adjust to changes in the market
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher degree, with strong analytical skills. MBA is strongly preferred
