Principal/Senior Scientist, Computational Biology
Our client's mission is to enable pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to bring more cell and gene therapies to patients, by dramatically increasing the efficiency of viral vector production and reducing the cost of manufacturing. They are developing novel high throughput genome engineering and screening technologies in a design loop with computational tools to dramatically increase the speed and scale of mammalian cell line discovery and develop highly optimized cell lines for viral vector manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and analysis of engineered mammalian cell lines
- Innovate on analysis techniques
- Guide experimental processes and quantitative measurements to ensure statistical rigor
- Explore novel algorithms
- Play a direct role in the long-term computational platform and vision
- Be directly involved in building our business strategy
- Influence and help guide our company culture
- Support other members as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience working with biological sequence data
- Experience designing and building NGS pipelines for high throughput sequencing methods
- Strong understanding of statistics fundamentals
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with scientists and engineers of different backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills and can systematically and effectively multitask/advance various projects simultaneously
- Thoughtful and detail oriented
- Team oriented
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience applying machine learning to biological problems
- Experience working in a similar role in a similar field
