The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami is seeking a Lecturer to teach and develop courses in marine conservation. The responsibilities and duties include:

Mentoring graduate students in the field of marine conservation by serving on or chairing committees, assisting with internship placement, and assisting with post-graduation job placement.

Developing and teaching graduate courses in marine conservation and/or environmental science.

Serving as academic coordinator for the Marine Conservation track in MPS program.

Providing updates and re-organization of the Marine Conservation MPS curriculum, in collaboration with the associate dean, department chair and director, to keep the track relevant to industry needs.

A Ph.D. in marine science, environmental science or a closely related field and previous research and graduate-level teaching experience in marine conservation or environmental science is required.

The applicant must have well-established professional connections with local, regional, and national marine conservation-related businesses, NGOs, and government entities. Applicants should have experience teaching at the University level, providing public presentations and communicating their work to the public through various media. Applicants should have strong communication skills and demonstrate that they have previously created and successfully implemented activities based on their own research. Knowledge of key concepts in the field of marine conservation science is required.
