This person will also process/review acoustic data, submit data to NABat, and conduct analyses of project data and associated ecological data.
In addition, this person will manage the large project dataset, and as necessary refine data management strategies, and produce reports, management recommendations, and other written documents required for the project. This person will also coordinate with other FWC staff and partners to maintain project budgets, facilitate public outreach, coordinate interagency activities and deliberations, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the ecology and conservation needs for bat populations. Knowledge of bat species occurring in Florida is preferred. At least 1 year of experience leading acoustic monitoring projects for bats is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience carrying-out protocols for processing, automated classifier analysis, and manual vetting of acoustic monitoring data is strongly preferred. Proficiency in identifying calls from bat species present in the southeastern U.S. is preferred. Experience working with and submitting data to NABat is preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with public agencies, municipalities, and private organizations, and engaging effectively with those partners to promote effective collaborations and achieve project objectives.
Skills: Well-developed data analysis skills, including proficiency in R or other data analysis software. Excellent skills using ArcGIS for spatial analyses. Well-developed problem solving, project management, data management, and time management skills. Well-developed writing skills. Well-developed skills for presenting project updates and research results at agency and working group meetings and regional conferences.
Abilities: Enthusiastic and self-motivated to complete quality work on time. Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision when appropriate while also working effectively as the project leader and coordinating with partners and stakeholders across the state. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively and to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
