We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Practice in Bellevue, WA. In this role you will work as part of a team to provide high-level scientific support for projects centering on the fate and transport of aqueous-soil-aquifer constituents, regulatory compliance, wastewater and hazardous waste permitting, and environmental risk. The ideal candidate will have an environmental generalist background and draw upon a deep understanding of environmental science to solve complex environmental problems and is willing to expand their area of expertise into emerging environmental issues including, but not limited to contaminants of emerging concern, climate change impacts on environmental quality, and evolving policy related to water quality and waste management.

You will be responsible for:

Synthesizing technical information and applying critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentations

Developing and maintaining professional status by authoring peer-reviewed publications, participation in technical conferences, activities of professional societies, and seeking/maintaining professional licenses or certifications

Working cooperatively on projects with other members of the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

Ph.D. from an environmental sciences-based field (e.g., Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Earth Sciences, Chemistry, etc.)

Experience with major U.S. environmental regulations

Experience managing, evaluating, and analyzing environmental chemistry data

Detail oriented

Excellent writing skills (mechanics/grammar and technical capacity); must be proficient at communicating through written work product, from simple to highly complex/technical topics

Demonstrated ability in oral communications

Proficient in Excel and Access; ability to use additional data management platforms and coding programs preferred

Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
