Description of Job Primary responsibility is to support the State Invasive Species Program Manager through administrative work such as filing, maintaining inventory, answering phone calls, public speaking, preparing materials for field trainings, loading and unloading vehicles, reviewing and editing technical reports and participating in the development of maps, training materials, educational materials, and protocol manuals. This position is grounded in scientific research, technical writing and editing. Duties include completing several documents that are currently in draft and will be going through either public or internal comment periods. Finally, this position works very closely with the Program Manager and helps with a large variety of tasks as they arise. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * B.S. in natural resources/botany/fisheries/wildlife or other natural resource field OR at least 1 year completed coursework toward a degree in the field is desired. * Previous experience performing administrative duties. * Previous experience performing technical writing, editing and document management. * Previous experience writing and analyzing surveys and survey data in comparison to duties. * Previous experience with customer service. * Experience with Microsoft Word applications and google. * Experience with ArcGIS preferred. * At least 6 months experience performing data entry, with fast and accurate typing ability. * Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to prioritize and multi-task is required. * Hours will be from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. There will be a small amount of weekend work scheduled in advance to staff public events. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences or comparable work experience.
