Job Overview Develops and performs cell- and molecular-based assay endpoints to evaluate therapeutic candidates for oncology applications. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Designs and optimizes molecular and cellular experiments, executes studies, and interprets results. * Evaluation of gene and protein expression in cells and tissues * Executes target and lead selection screens with molecular or plate based-endpoints * Generates and maintains knock-out, knock-in and overexpressing cell lines using standard transfection and/or transduction methods * Analyzes data, documents laboratory findings, prepares summary data reports * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Experience in aseptic mammalian cell culture * Basic molecular biology techniques, including experience in isolation and quantification of DNA, RNA protein from mammalian cells and tissues, q-RT-PCR, western blot * Strong documentation and communication skills * Analytical, organizational and computer skills required * Ability to be flexible and assist with other tasks/duties as needed in a small company environment * Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for own work. Education & Experience * BS + 4 years lab experience, MS + 2 years lab experience, or PhD * Industry experience desirable Physical Demands and Work Environment * Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel. * Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds. * Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling or pushing. * In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards. * Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
