As an Associate Environmental Planner based anywhere in Southern CA, you'll have the opportunity to work on local projects as well as projects in other states and even other countries. There are opportunities for travel if you choose, to work from home, from our Redding office, or a mix of all three. We will help you build your network by meeting other professionals and get the most out or your career. You will work closely with and lead other planners, engineers, resource experts such as biologists and cultural resource staff. You will help on water, utility, transportation and other types of projects which may include - planning and permitting new reservoirs, helping communities recover after natural disasters, and high profile projects sustainability projects to deliver water more effectively for the environment, agriculture, and jobs, as well as environmental restoration projects, and so many more. Our planners do a wide variety of work. You'll use and increase your knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental regulations to prepare environmental documentation for our clients. You'll also research and prepare technical reports, including CEQA and NEPA documents, permit applications as well as coordinate regulatory permitting issues with regulatory agency staff. You'll lead analysis of project alternatives, environmental site assessments, permitting, assisting with public involvement including outreach to native American populations. You'll work with highly skilled and experienced members of our team as well as established clients that will provide you with the opportunity to continue to grow your professional network and your career. We have a strong commitment and culture of mentoring staff as well as senior level experts that really want to help you succeed and grow your career. * Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Cultural Resources, or a related field * Proficiency preparing CEQA and NEPA analysis and documentation * A minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental planning * Additional specific experience in/related to environmental (or other) planning, natural resources, permitting, or other related fields * Experience working with and leading teams of professionals * Good writing and communication skills Ideally, You'll Also Have (but not required): * Master's Degree in Environmental (or other) Planning or related field such as those listed above. * Experience with GIS At Jacobs, we're partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates.
