Job Summary:
Responsible to conduct a variety of standard and non-standard microbiological assays to enumerate or detect different microbiological organisms in foods in a high volume testing laboratory. Duties will also include the review of data and reporting of results to the client. This requires extensive understanding of qualitative and quantitative microbiological principles and techniques.
Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of microbiological testing methods
Perform analysis on large volumes of testing materials
Perform pathogen screening using autoclave and PCR based techniques
Interpret, analyze and approve analytical data.
Assure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Confirm product specifications.
Maintain aseptic methods and protocols; follow standards and procedures.
Prepare cultures by obtaining in-process and finished product samples.
Identify micro-organisms by conducting microscopic examinations.
Document and report quality results by completing reports and logs; communicate results and required adjustments to manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Science Degree or Relevant Experience
