Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Scientist to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team, dedicated to the discovery of innovative drug therapies. The group provides a rigorous intellectual environment, within a supportive and collegial atmosphere for accelerating professional growth.
The successful applicant will assume a major scientific part in a multidisciplinary project aimed at investigating cardiovascular mechanisms. The candidate will develop and execute approaches for exploring new biology in areas such as cardiac inflammation, fibrosis immunomodulation and metabolism. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in in vivo and in vitro cardiovascular disease skills. Experience with in vivo cardiovascular models and imaging techniques is highly desired. Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, meticulous to detail and record keeping and interested to work full time in lab to support projects. A high level of independence, autonomy and intellectual collaboration is encouraged.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop novel and executable routes to achieve research objectives.
- Communicates with team members clearly and succinctly the project plans and operations.
- Participate and present data in team and departmental meetings.
- Makes significant conceptual contribution to project activities.
- Possess strong in vivo experimental and technical skills
- Be able to work productively in a collaborative and cross functional team environment within and outside our division **.
Education:*
- BS degree in Cell Biology, Cardiometabolic or related cardiovascular field, with at least 2 years of industry and/or academic experience in cardiovascular or MS degree with some relevant industry or academic experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Experience in Cardiovascular disease and relevant metabolic pathways
- Proven ability to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the art technologies.?
- Molecular biology, cellular biology, including ex vivo techniques related to cardiovascular.
- Working knowledge and hands on experience in cardiovascular models, imaging techniques (invasive and non-invasive techniques)
- Scientific curiosity, analytical mindset with a drive to work in teams and support projects to understand biology, mechanism of action and drive it through the discovery pipeline.
- Ability to work independently designing tightly controlled experiments, interpreting data and presenting to teams within and outside the disease area.
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as people skills to work as a team player.
- Ability to working effectively in a highly matrixed environment
