Job Summary
AECOM is looking for an experienced Environmental Scientist with site investigation and CERCLA process experience to become an integrated member of AECOM's remediation practice in the Chelmsford, MA office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
- Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data.
- Developing sampling plans and approaches.
- Supporting field investigation services and data collection.
- Preparing reports and other technical documents.
- Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS and 2 years of experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must have valid, U.S. Driver's license
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS and 3 years of experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Able to work both independently and in a project team environment.
- Investigation experience must include development of sampling plans; supporting sample plan implementation; sample management and tracking; and data evaluation
- Data validation experience a plus
- Analytical laboratory experience a plus
- Strong skills and interest for detailed data management and proficiency towards data organization
- Experience on federal / Superfund sites preferred
- Ability to record test data legibly, completely, and accurately.
- Ability to recognize hazards and work safely in an industrial setting.
- Show initiative and interest in professional development.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills
