WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for helping the utility client develop, manage, and organize collected data to identify work in Transmission right of ways.
- Manage specialized databases and spreadsheets, entering data and generating reports with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
- Assist Project Management in creation of high-level estimates using appropriate historical project data and identify any need for new data figures.
- Manage all database-related tasks, generate work requests and various reports, conduct queries and research, perform edits and back-ups, update programs and files, and maintain the integrity and security of the database.
- Support field crews and arborists with reports, maps, spreadsheets, etc.
- Operate system forestry computer programs and record systems.
- Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations and an open line of communication with management.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS Technology or Mapping, Forestry, Environmental Science, Computer Science, GIS Mapping, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
- Prior GIS Experience, specifically:
- Esri's ArcGIS products e.g., ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS PRO, ArcCollector, ArcGIS Desktop.
- Experience with GIS systems, remote sensing, and Lidar Data is a plus.
- Experience with work management software is a plus.
- Must be able to work alone and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to follow specification documents and understand scope of the project.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Advanced creation and use of formulas.
- Ability to create a variety of charts and graphs.
- Ability to create pivot tables.
- Use of multi-sheet workbooks.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities, and show attention to detail.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have the knowledge of how processes work, timelines, data flow, etc.
- Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, if needed.
WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:
- Microsoft Teams experience
- Basic understanding of electrical Infrastructure
- Ability to identify different common FL tree species
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ECI FORESTER:
Working Environment
Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions. Physical
The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
