Research Associate- Biology

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation and analysis of biochemical and cell-based assays as required for project support.
- Organizing, coordinating and executing laboratory functions and project assignments.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines and to present experimental findings to others.
Basic Qualifications:
- Training should include a BS or MS in biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, or related areas with 2+ years of post-degree laboratory experience desirable, optimally in industry.
- Cell biology experience with knowledge of techniques associated with setting up and executing cell-based assays and culturing cell lines.
- Experience with methods to study enzyme inhibition is a plus.
- Familiarity with studying small-molecule inhibitors utilizing 96/384-well formats is desirable.
- Experience with any of the following techniques is valuable: ELISAs, western blot analysis, flow cytometry, cell proliferation, protein assays, TR-FRET, or Alphascreen.
- Knowledge of basic software for analyzing dose-response data, such as Prism and Excel, and of creating presentations is also required.
- Candidate must have a capability of reading and evaluating the scientific literature to aid in novel assay development.
- Hands-on experience in the areas of immunology and/or inflammation is a plus.
Additional Desirable Qualities:
- Familiarity with a start-up Biotech company pace and culture.
- Ability to contribute to diverse projects.
- Demonstrated talent for broad interactions with preclinical researchers.
