Position Summary:

The Department of Biology at Eastern New Mexico University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology.

Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach 12 credit hours per semester in areas including general biology, general ecology (with lab), limnology, ichthyology (with lab), fisheries management & conservation.
* Academic advising of undergraduate students in biology.
* Direction of graduate students, research program, and university service.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

ABD/Ph.D. degree related to the responsibilities of the position is required.

Teaching experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Expertise in the area(s) of behavior and/or evolutionary ecology is preferred.
* Basic computer skills (e.g. Word-processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software)
* Basic laboratory skills (safety, scientific method, solution preparation, etc.)
* Teaching skills (enthusiastic lecturer, ability to teach diverse learners, etc.)
* Assessment skills (learning outcomes, grading, etc.)
* Quantitative analysis and experimental design skills
* Desired: Field skills related to the position (seine-netting, electrofishing, etc.)

Working Conditions: Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

* Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
