Position Overview
Adaptive is seeking a thoughtful data scientist who is enthusiastic about statistics, genetics, and improving human health. We are looking for someone who excels at data analysis, statistical modeling, and communicating results to diverse audiences.
You will join a highly collaborative Computational Biology group, within the Life Sciences Research team, that conducts analyses to support key decisions within the company and for our clients. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with wet lab scientists to design experiments and analyze data for external clients
Perform quick and thorough analyses of DNA sequencing data to understand outliers, perform QC, make descriptive figures, and address key statistical questions
Build and evaluate probabilistic models for biomarker development
Present results to a wide variety of stakeholders, from wet lab scientists to clinicians to executive team members
Be a problem solver: communicate well, ask questions, proactively eliminate bottlenecks, and be the person people go to when they want a job done right
Required Experience
PhD in related field with 2+ years of related experience (strongly preferred)or
Master's degree with 10 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Biotech, diagnostics or other healthcare experience preferred
Proficiency in at least one common coding language (R, python, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work on multidisciplinary teams
Experience in presenting technical material to diverse audiences
Other duties as assigned
