Job Overview/Summary

As a Scientist I in Global Stewardship, you will be a Study Sponsor for Microbiological tests run at external labs under GLP regulations. You will work collaboratively with a cross functional teams and external labs to lead quality data generation and documentation for business critical Regulatory submissions to the EPA. This critical work is a key driver for delivering the Cleaning business objectives and enables health of the $1.5 billion Cleaning Business..

Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) are federal regulations that require implementation of a robust quality management system to ensure the validity, integrity and reliability of data submitted for regulatory evaluation and EPA approval.

As GLP Study Sponsor, you will have overall responsibility for verifying the micro-efficacy studies are technically sound and GLP compliant. You will be the principal point of contact for activities related to these studies, collaborating internally with Product Development, Micro, Analytical and Global Stewardship as well as externally with the micro labs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead micro testing strategy to meet regulatory and business needs.
  • Place, oversee and manage testing at contract micro labs to ensure studies meet objectives, including but not limited to reviewing and evaluating methods, raw data, and reports for GLP compliance acceptability.
  • Manage relationships with external Micro Labs including cost, scheduling and lab performance.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international biocidal regulations with a focus on US EPA and Health Canada antimicrobial pesticide product regulations.
  • Coordinate and execute assigned projects and activities; develop project goals and timelines in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop SOP's and training as needed for GLP compliance.
  • Implement and maintain systems to ensure accurate, complete and timely submissions to regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient and working knowledge of relevant GLPs, EPA guidelines and industry standards (ASTM, ISO, AOAC, OECD, USP).
  • Familiarity with regulatory methods in microbiology, such as those of the ASTM, OECD, AOAC, EPA and EN as well as with standards such as GLP.
  • Working knowledge of EPA's Series 810: Product Performance Guidelines.
  • Understanding of test requirements based on product form, use-site, application method.
  • LCL requirements, EPA approved surrogates, and test methods.
  • Ability to generate, analyze and interpret large volumes of data.
  • Evaluate and interpret findings of scientific studies in relation to regulatory requirements and label development.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's of Science degree in biological or chemical science.
  • At least 2 years dedicated experience registering agrochemical, biochemical, microbial and/or antimicrobial products.
  • Candidate should possess good working knowledge of EPA FIFRA regulations, policies and procedures as well as EPA registration study requirements and guidelines.

  • BS in Microbiology
  • Previous experience working at a GLP or GMP-compliant contract lab.
