Tetra Tech seeks a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow and develop their role to improve our capacity to serve clients and the natural world. The Scientist would work with a small team of biologists, environmental planners, and engineers to design and execute aquatic habitat restoration projects, biological studies, environmental assessments, and other natural resources investigations. Creative problem solvers interested in bringing innovative technology to the forefront of environmental consulting are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have broad interests and background to address projects that may include: * Stream and River restoration; * Conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, wildlife habitat, and riverine features in the Pacific Northwest; * NEPA/SEPA documentation processes, preparation, and analysis; * Performing wetland delineations; * Fisheries studies and fish monitoring; * ESA compliance analysis and Biological Assessment preparation; * Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401; * GIS mapping and data analysis; * Assisting in business development for biological/environmental work. You'll Bring These Qualifications: * BS in Biology/Geography/Environmental Sciences/Water Resources Sciences and at least 3-5 years of professional experience, or MS in Biology/Geography/Environmental Sciences/Water Resources Sciences and at least 1-3 years of professional experience in environmental science and project management including surveying, monitoring and permitting; water quality, delineation of wetlands, and restoration. * Knowledge of local plant, fish and/or wildlife species and their habitat requirements. * Ability to research and prepare reports on environmental disciplines, regulations, and policies (NEPA/SEPA and ESA documentation). * Experience with federal, state, and local environmental permitting regulations and processes. * Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with regulatory agency staff, co-workers, management, clients and the public. * Strong personal organization skills, including the ability to deliver work products of multiple projects on time. * Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Proficiency with GPS equipment and ArcGis software. * Valid driver's license.
