Our firm is seeks a highly motivated Senior CEQA Project Manager to join us in Sacramentom CA. We are looking for a team member with 10 or more years of experience, who has the intellectual curiosity and proactivity to lead a variety of analyses and evaluations related to the environmental review of a wide range of development and planning projects throughout Northern California.

Ideal Senior CEQA Project Manager Qualifications:

You are senior-level professional with a strong desire to grow and advance your career and to further develop your leadership skills.

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree with major course work in environmental planning, policy, and/or science; urban planning; geography; or a related interdisciplinary field.

You have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in a consulting environment, which includes managing projects, leading teams, conducting research and preparing environmental compliance evaluations and assessments. A strong understanding of the California Environmental Quality Act, similar state/federal regulations, or resource-related permit applications is required.

You are competent leading or directing the development of high-quality environmental analyses including CEQA and NEPA documentation and client deliverables for both public agency and private sector clients. You have prepared and have comprehensive knowledge of policy planning, regulatory permitting, and relevant regulatory and environmental regulations and processes in California.

You are an effective leader, team member and communicator who proactively identifies and contributes constructively to address broad project or team issues, providing mentoring and coaching to more junior staff to foster teamwork.

You possess excellent oral and presentation skills and have lead and directed marketing and business development pursuits including developing capture strategies, and leading proposals, interviews and presentations.

Senior CEQA Project Manager Role and Responsibilities:

You will lead or direct the environmental review of a broad range of larger and more complex development and planning projects in collaboration with scientists, engineers, community planners and other specialists.

You will demonstrate a clear understanding of project management principles and practices and be responsible for the development of environmental analysis and review in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements, while delivering assignments within budget and schedule.

You will serve as an environmental specialist, preparing and managing complex environmental analyses and coordinating with key team members, including senior staff, subconsultants, and clients. You will produce technical work and written products that are clear, concise, and well‐supported.

You will consistently demonstrate your solid writing skills and attentive listening skills, and participate in and/or lead client meetings, present at or provide support at community workshops and public hearings effectively presenting complex technical information clearly and concisely.

You will lead the preparation of proposals for mid‐to-large -sized projects, providing technical input, contributing to proposal writing, identifying opportunities, and engaging with proposal/interview teams. These efforts will include having the responsibility for preparing scopes of work and budgets. You may also lead and direct marketing and business development pursuits including developing capture strategies.

You will provide supervision, mentorship and support for junior staff, including reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback and career development guidance while working on projects together.
